My name is Mark Riddlesdin, and I am a professional speechwriter with 15 years of top level experience. My political and corporate speeches have appeared numerous times on television and radio, and I have written wedding speeches for many of the celebrity weddings featured in those glossy magazines.
I offer exactly the same level of service for wedding speeches as I do for corporate speakers:
Please take a few moments to look through my site.
I will make sure that your wedding speech is a success.

Before hiring you, my speech was the biggest concern I had about my wedding. Second to exchanging my vows, it was the highlight of my day. I can't thank you enough
C. Welby, Groom
There are three main types of wedding speeches, namely: Father of the Bride, Groom Speeches and Best Man Speeches, although bride speeches have become increasingly popular in recent years too.
Although the various wedding speeches require different approaches there are some common themes to my service.
My clients are professional people who want the reassurance and peace of mind that I can provide as an experienced speechwriter. Sometimes there is a difficult subject that needs to be broached in a sensitive manner, such as, say, Groom speeches when a close family member has recently passed away. There can also be delicate family politics to negotiate in Father of the Bride speeches when the father is speaking about a daughter from a previous marriage. Best Man speeches can be especially tricky when the Best Man has not known the Groom for many years and is at a loss for suitable anecdotes from his friend's past.
Generally speaking however, clients approach me because they need their speech to be perfect.
Whether my clients approach me to write heavily comedic Best Man speeches or a brief, tender Father of the Bride speeches, I appreciate that your wedding speech is incredibly important to you. You will be stood in front of a sea of expectant faces, not to mention a few video cameras, and you need to be confident that your material is original, well written and will captivate your audience.
Speechwriting is my full time occupation. I am not someone who has written a couple of best man speeches and now offers a 'best man speeches' service as a sideline. Nor am I someone who provides 'speech templates'. I write fully bespoke Father of the Bride speeches, Groom speeches and Best Man speeches to match both your personal style of delivery and sense of humour, and which are targeted specifically towards the demographic of your scheduled audience. My office hours are from 10am to 6pm. I am available within these hours to discuss whatever points you wish to raise.
When I tell clients that I will contact them at a given time to discuss their wedding speeches, this is exactly what I do. My clients never have to chase me over their Father of the Bride speeches or enquire how I am progressing with their Groom speeches. In short, I keep my promises.
I like my clients to have their finished wedding speeches well in advance of their wedding. I do appreciate that sometimes people are called upon to make Best Man speeches at short notice and, say, Grooms who had previously decided to make a brief toast then realise they need to deliver more fulsome Groom speeches. In which case, I can only recommend that you contact me as soon as possible, and I will advise you of the timescale involved.
I appreciate that many of my clients would be mortified if their friends and family learned of my involvement with their wedding speeches. This is particularly true of groom speeches and father of the bride speeches where there is a greater emphasis on shared reminiscences.
I guarantee my clients total confidentiality and strictly observe any instructions concerning how and when they can be contacted. I always follow up with clients to enquire how their speeches were received, but never solicit testimonials for my website.
Whether I am writing Groom speeches, Father of the Bride speeches or Best man speeches, I always present my client with a detailed questionnaire to complete and return online.
There is a separate questionnaire for each type of speech. For example, the questionnaire for Father of the Bride speeches concentrates more on the nuances of the Bride's personality, whilst the questionnaire for Groom speeches tackles wider issues of the Groom's relationship with his prospective in-laws.
Of course, it is impossible to get all the information I need from a profile, but as a first step they constitute a vital part of the research that is necessary to tailor my speeches to suit my clients' needs, and have proved a valuable tool over the years.
If the thought of filling in forms strikes you as appealing as a trip to the dentist - don't worry, I am happy to take down the details over the phone.
I always ask if my clients can provide me with a photograph, both of themselves and also of the main subject of their speech.
We discuss your wedding speech, I accept payment and send you a questionnaire
We agree on the tone of your wedding speech ie. witty, sincere, tender etc.
I deliver a first draft, which we then discuss and polish until it shines
You deliver a wonderful wedding speech and bask in the applause
